Cadillac Converj: big "Volt" brother!
The company management of General Motors has approved the project of realisation of the serial version of model Cadillac Converj which is based on platform Chevrolet Volt. It is expected that to appear in the markets till 2012 conceptual Converj the motor-car manufacturer has presented a new hybrid coupe of mark Cadillac this year in January on a motor show in Detroit. The model was positioned as the show penalties, showing more sports and prestigious kind, than its "donor", the future hybrid from Chevrolet.
The conceptual coupe has received from model Volt its hybrid drive gear, with more productive indicators. It is four-cylinder petrol 1,4 — litre 163 — the strong motor (unlike 150-strong engine Chevrolet Volt) and the electric motor on lithium-ion battery. Serial Cadillac Converj, probably, will give to General Motors to compensate expenses, or their part, directed earlier working out hybrid Volt. Indeed, the luxury hybrid coupe from Cadillac — that can be better for popularity of hybrids GM? All anything, but only the information on release of serial model Converj is informal and in no way was not while is confirmed by the American motor-car manufacturer. And to a motorcar giant, which on the further working out of the hybrids has asked for the government of the help at a rate of 10,3 billion dollars (plus to volume 21 billion dollars which have already been enclosed in the project), now are necessary uneasy. The native government "has turned away" from GM and has rejected the plan of re-structuring of a motor-car manufacturer. The next months the concern is obliged to begin bankruptcy procedure so under doubt it is necessary to put only release serial Cadillac Converj, but also assembly of models Chevrolet Volt and Opel Ampera.
