BMW stops to produce 5 version
According to the preliminary information, already on October, 9th dealers in Europe will stop a demands acceptance on present generation BMW of 5th series. And in December the Bavarian company and at all will stop the conveyor on manufacture of this model. The reason for such decision consists at all in financial crisis and falling of sales. Simply BMW will begin modernisation of the main conveyor at factory in Dingolfinge that in the beginning of 2010 to begin there release of absolutely new "five".
It is not excluded that new "five" will show in January on a motor show in Detroit, however, car sales will begin only more close by the spring. New "five" hardly becomes larger than nowadays exhausted car – its length will make 4860 mm that on 20 mm more than now. Also it is necessary to count on wheelbase increase – thanks to it of space in interior becomes hardly more. Well and under cowl BMW of 5th series will start to put new motors, including 6-cylinder in volume 3,0 l with a turbo-supercharging (306 h.p.). There will be also an economic version 520d which will have the motor in volume of 2,0 l (163 h.p.). Such car begins to spend for each 100 km of a way in the so-called commixed cycle only 4,1 l of fuel.
